This is an interesting TED Talk about the Mongolian nomadic culture and what we can learn from their way of life. Khulan Batkhuyag is a communications professional from Mongolia who helps people make behavioral choices that are good for their well being and the environment. She also works with young professionals in Mongolia and guides them to making their businesses more sustainable.

In the TED Talk, Batkhuyag discusses nomadic hospitality, how they look out for one another, and live in harmony with the environment. She said the nomads are powered by mother nature and do not strive to accumulate things. They live minimally. "Nomadic life," she says, "is truly zero waste."

After traveling in remote Mongolia for six years, she said it made her realize that she should "think bigger and further than my own convenience and comfort." Batkhuyag took what she learned from the nomadic lifestyles, and applied it not only to her own life, but to improving urban living by helping clients to simplify, reduce their carbon footprint, and minimize waste.

Overall Batkhuyag's message is that we need to rethink what success really is and the materialistic things we strive for. She suggests we work on ways to combine the wisdom of sophisticated ancient cultures, such as the Mongolian nomads, with modern technology to develop a new and better way of living - a way of living that will help create a cleaner, greener planet!
