Earth Day and CGP's 5th Anniversary!

Happy Earth Day 2026 and Happy 5th Anniversary to Cleaner Greener Planet! Earth Day reminds us to stop and appreciate the natural world around us. It also serves as a reminder to each of us to do our part to take care of it. I started Cleaner Greener Planet 5 years ago in the hopes of making a small, but positive impact. My feeling was that if I could inspire even just a small number of people by passing on news of environmental victories and educating them on what they can do to help care for our planet, they might be more likely to make decisions that are good for the environment. While my contribution to our significant environmental challenges is small, if each person makes even a small effort, we will continue to move closer to achieving a cleaner, greener planet.

This year's Earth Day theme — "Our Power, Our Planet" — reflects this belief. In a time where national and global programs and policies are being dismantled by government officials, local efforts are stepping up so ensure that we continue making progress toward a sustainable future. Local communities, businesses, charities, and schools are were we see lots of good being done. Why? Because sustainable living makes sense. For our health, our planet, our future. It's that simple. Remember, do not be discouraged, we the people still have the power to make positive change. Earth Day started 56 years ago and has grown into an event that is celebrated around the world. That shows how something that starts small can grow into something that inspires millions. In the year to come, let's continue to spread the powerful message of Earth Day through our actions. If we do just one small thing every day that benefits the planet, then every day is Earth Day!
